The paid $2,400 engagement is **AI Business Discovery and Readiness**. They are different things. ## South Dakota state cost-share funding The price does not change based on who pays. AI Business Discovery and Readiness is $2,400 whether a state program reimburses half of it or the client pays all of it. Program status current as of September 3, 2026: the SD Department of Labor and Regulation AI Adoption Workforce Funding Category 1 application window closed August 7, 2026. The Workforce Development Council acted on filed applications on August 25. DLR moved award notifications from September 1 to September 4, citing application volume; notifications go by email to every applicant regardless of outcome, award recipients and contract amounts will be publicly available, and funded training must be completed by June 30, 2027. The Category 2 follow-on window is confirmed open through November 12 for Category 1 awardees, per written DLR confirmation dated August 6, although the live state application form still displays November 25.
